Bar Mitzvah

About two weekends ago, my weekend was dedicated to my family friend's bar mitzvah, Ethan Madarsolouk. And let me tell you, it was one of the best weekends of my life, I had a blast! Well, just in case you didnt know, a bar mitzvah is from the Jewish religion. It occurs when a boy turns thirteen years old, and is techically considered your 'manhood'. When a boy turns 13, he takes on certain obigations and is basically part of a new society. Well, at least in the Jewish community. A girl has these obligations, too but that case it is defined as a bat mitzvah, rather than a bar mitzvah. Now, lets get back to the fun at Ethan's Bar Mitzvah. Saturday morning was his reading at the temple, which is basically where he reads from the Torah. I had a blast there for sure, but the only downside was I had to wake up very early. Well, the celebration continued the next day, Sunday when it was his party. His party was fun for so many different reasons! I danced, ate, partied, and at the end I even presented the speech I wrote for him in front of everyone. Wel, that was my action packed weekend, thank you for reading! :)

Forest Gump

If I had to choose a favorite movie, there is no doubt that the movie Forest Gump would be right at the top. This movie, is one of my most favorite for a few reasons, but most importantly, it had anything you ever dreamed of in a movie. For one, there is love mixed into the whole plot. Another reason why is because it shows how a boy perseveres through all the struggles in his life and succeeds throughout it all. Finally, the message it gives out is amazing. It teaches us to be greatful for everything we have in life, not taking anything for granted, and shows that being honest and loyal pays off. Forest Gump ( Tom Hanks ) the main character, grew up with disabled legs and he had to walk with machine legs. One morning, on his way to his new school after moving to a ranch, he had to walk several miles there. He saw this young girl that helped Forest out a lot, and she protected him from many strangers and bullies. The young girl, Jenny and Forest practically were like young wedded kids. They had the love and relationship everyone dreams to have... They would hang out together, do homework, help each other out, climb trees, communicate and stayed together until high school. Forest and Jenny grew up together as kids when Forest became succeeding in many things and being very good at anything in his way. And with his disability, he preservered through it and went along. As Forest was going on as an innocent man doing many good things, Jenny got into many bad things and his mother was getting sick. He stopped by whenever he could, and one day in military boot camp, he saw Jenny on a very weird magazine. He decided to go stop by when he saw her getting involved in many bad things. He tried helping, but she refused. Forest went along doing many good things with his life, being heartbroken from Jenny not wanting or caring about him anymore. She stopped by at his house a few times, to sneak out of nowhere and leave him heartbroken and empty without a notice. Forest goes along to teach us to preserve and get through anything that goes your way, no matter how bad. Forest Gump, was definatly one of the best movies for anyone, anyone at all.

Tarzana Park

Hello, I know I am not blogging about movie reviews, but here I am with a new recent topic! Well, I hope you enjoy! If you didn't know, my favorite hobby is basketball and I love playing it. Usually, every season I play at Balboa Sports Center where they offer different seasons for basketball. But for some circumstances that are left unknown, they did not offer season to play. And instead of taking this season off, I decided to join Tarzana park. You might ask if I like it or not, but I do not know yet. This is my first season there and so far it is very fun. Practically, all of my friends from Portola play there and it is very fun to play basketball with them. Also, the coaches are all pretty much chill, or at least in my case just let us have fun and play for ourselves. This could have its ups and down, but mainly ups in my case for now. During practice, we practically play scrimmage the whole time which is basically a game between our own team for fun. I enjoy playing at Tarzana Park because it is very fun and I enjoy it a lot. But Balboa is way better in my opinion because the coaches help you inprove and take it more seriously. Well, that was my blog on Tarzana Park. Hope you enjoyed it :)

Cousins!

This past Saturday was a very fun and calm day. Saturday morning my cousins from my moms side came over and we had a great time. Usually, I don't see these cousins because they life in LA, and it's hard for them to come to the Valley. So either we go to there house or go out, it is on rare occasions that they come to our house so it was new and fun! In the beginning, we started off eating and of course that was fun, because who doesn't like food? We had Persain food called Ghormeh Sabzi that my aunt makes. Then later on we played a 2 on 2 basketball game with my brother, Dylan and my two cousins. After 2 and a half house of playing, we were all tired because of all the playing and decided to get some juice and relax. After that we decided to play Nba 2k on Xbox, which was also really fun. My cousins are very good so it was a fun competition, but in the end he beat me and my brother! Later on, we decided to go to the Calabasas Commons where we all had an amazing time! We ate at Johnny Rockets and walked around for the rest of the time. My brother, cousins, and I spent a lot of time together and we all had a blast! At the end of the night we decided to spend way more time with each other and see each other more often rather than every once in a while. That was my Saturday, I hope you enjoyed it!

The Lucky One

Im back with more movie reviews instead of random topics! Over the past few weeks I have been blogging about random things besides movie reviews. But this week I am back with a movie review about the amazing movie, "The Lucky One". This movie is starring Zac Efron which is the main character in this movie, and played the role very well. It all started as Zac, a Marine fighting for the United States in battle. During one of the raids, he find a picture of a lady and keeps it beside him. He survived many different hard battles after this where out of the rest of the troops, only he survived. When he gets boarded back home, he promises himself he will do whatever he can to go find and thank this women on the picture. He asks everyone, until he finds out her location and walks all the way from Colorado to this small town where he finally finds her. Zac Efron instantly falls in love with her and didn't know what to say so he did not mention the photograph and why he came to her. The women offers him a job at the shelter she owned and because of this, they got very close. One night, the women's ex husband finds the photograph and brings it to the women. She is instantly scared because that was the photograph she gave to her brother before he went into battle. Of course, she got frightened and kicked him out of his house until she realized she couldn't live without Zac. They instantly got married and everything was good for the both of him. I highly recommend this movie for viewers who like fictional love movies, but even though I usually do not watch those types of movies, I liked this one.

San Diego...

These past two days for me were spent in San Diego, in a ' small vacation '. On Sunday, my parents all of a sudden decided to plan a trip to go to San Diego, so we booked a hotel a day before we actually went. It was kind of nice because my whole family got to spend a few days together away from everything. And even though it was only trip we had a blast there! Throughout the days we did many fun activities but we mainly we spend a lot of time at the beach. The first day we arrived there was also my brothers birthday, so we decided to go out for lunch for celebration of his birthday. His name is Dylan and he turned 15 but I don't know if that's important to you haha... Anyways, we did many activities like went to the beach, bike riding, jet skiing, and my favorite part; eating! We stayed at the Embassy Suites Hotel in La Jolla, San Diego and it is one of my most favorite hotels because of a few reasons... But one of the reasons was they had happy hour every night where they gave beverages and food out and it was very fun! They gave things like chips, Coke, Sprite basically any drink, and also many types of fruits and vegetables. Even though it was just a small trip, it is a nice get-a-way from everything and an excuse to just take a break on life. You may ask what was my favorite part of this vacation. And if I were to answer that, there is no favorite part; I had a blast throughout the whole trip! Anyways, that was my brief summary of my small vacation in San Diego! I hoped you liked it...

All Stars...

This past two weeks have been very fun for me, basketball wise at least... During every winter season at the San Fernando Valley recreational centers, they take there top 8-9 ranking players and put them on one team. This year I made the team, representing Balboa Sports Center and so far it is going very well. The first game, we played Mar Vista which was an amazing team! They all played well and none of our shots were making, and in the end we lost by 11 points. From them on we had to get serious because it was a one game elimination meaning if you lost once, you were out of the tournament. A few days later, last tuesday, we played a team by the name of David M. Gonzales and we actually won! Even though the gym's court was terrible and the ref's were in favor of the other team, we still came up and won by 15 points. Then came yesterday's game against Cheviot Hills ( aka the team who won the championships in last years tournament ). But we had the advantage because they only had 4/5 players on the court, but we surely underestimated them because at half time we were down by 17 points or somewhere around them. But this is where our luck turned around... The official director checked the rulebook and apparently you are forced to forfeit if you do not have 5 players on the court during the second half. We were all very happy and so far all star season is going very well... Thank you for reading!
